Flower tubular funnel-shaped, 1½" across, wavy to frilled lobes of heavy substance, strong red, deep red spotting on upper 3 lobes. Ball to dome-shaped truss holds 18-20 flowers.

Leaves narrowly elliptic, acute apex, cuneate base, convex, 5" long, glossy grayish olive green, slight fawn-colored indumentum. Leaves retained 3-4 years. Upright plant habit.
