 An azaleodendron. Flower funnel-shaped, 1⅛" across, lilac purple, slightly paler along lobe centers, outside vivid red along lobe center, marked greenish brown at base of dorsal lobe, fragrant. Truss holds 12 flowers.

 Leaves elliptic, about 2" long, glossy, dark green, silky and hairy when young. Rounded plant habit.
