Flower broadly funnel-shaped, wavy edges, 3¼" wide, inside vivid purple with black spotted blotch on dorsal lobe, some spots extending onto adjacent lobes; outside vivid purple shading to deep purplish red at midribs. Ball-shaped truss has 15 flowers.

Leaves elliptic, recurved margins, broadly acute apex, rounded base, 6" long, bullate, semi-glossy, dark bluish green to dark green, retained 2 years. Copper-looking new growth.
