Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Dandy Man Pink'

Flower inside pink, shading lighter in throat, with maroon stripping on dorsal lobe, outside deeper pink.  Ball-shaped truss has 11 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves oblong, acute apex, rounded base, 5" long, semi-glossy, dark green, retained 3 years.  Good heat tolerance.  Typical height: 6 ft. in 10 years.  Plant is cold hardy to -20°F (-29°C).  Hybridized by Thornton.  Also known as 'Honey Creek' or 'Mighty Titan'.

Lepidote Rhododendron: 'Landmark'

Flower strong purplish red with faint scarlet spotting, openly funnel-shaped, wavy edges, ¾" across.  Held in dome-shaped truss with 25 flowers.  Blooms midseason.  Leaves elliptic, broadly acute apex, rounded base, down-curved edges, about 2" long, semi-glossy, dark green.  Upright, open habit.  Grows to height of about 4 ft. in 10 years.  Cold hardy to -15°F (-26°C).  Hybridized by Mezitt.

Evergreen Azalea: 'Hinodegiri'

Flower strong purplish red, single, funnel-shaped, 1⅛" across.  Truss has 3 flowers.  Blooms early midseason.  Leaves obovate, about ¾" long, glossy, mid green, may turn wine red in fall and winter.  Dense, mounding plant habit.  Grows to a typical height of 2 ft in 10 yrs.  Cold hardy to 5°F (-23°C).  Hybridizer is unknown.

Deciduous Azalea: R. 'Rosy Lights'

Flower deep purplish pink with vivid reddish orange spotting on dorsal lobe, openly funnel-campanulate, wavy dorsal lobe, 2⅜" across.  Dome-shaped truss with 8 flowers.  Blooms late midseason.  Leaves oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic, acute apex, cuneate base, 2¾" long, flat, bullate, moderate yellowish green.  Upright, well-branched shrub.  Typical height: 4-5 ft. in 10 years.  Very cold hardy to -35°F (-37°C).  Hybridized by Pellett.
