Lepidote Rhododendron: 'John Paul Evans' Flower pale yellow to white with brilliant orange-yellow throat, campanulate with distinctive re-curved petals, fragrant, 4" across. Flat-shaped trusses. Blooms early midseason. Leaves oblong to elliptic, apiculate apex, cuneate base, bullate above, retained for 2 years. Upright, well-branched, papery reddish-brown bark on trunk and branches. Grows to a typical height of 7 ft. in 10 years. Suitable for mild areas where minimum temperature doesn't go below 30°F (0°C). Hybridized by Evans. |

Deciduous Azalea: 'Homebush' Flower vivid purplish pink on a base of vivid purplish red, openly funnel-shaped, slightly re-curved lobes, about 1⅛" across, semi-double. Tight, ball-shaped truss with 12-16 flowers. Holds color well in sun. Blooms late midseason. Leaves elliptic, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, light green. Upright, open growth habit. Grows to a typical height of 6 ft. in 10 yrs. Cold hardy to 0°F (-18°C). Hybridized by Waterer (Knaphill). Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. |
