Elepidote Rhododendron: 'Phyllis Korn' Flower white with small red dorsal blotch which fades to light greenish-yellow with age, openly funnel-shaped, wavy lobes, 4" across. Held in trusses of 12 flowers. Blooms midseason. Leaves elliptic to near ovate, 6" long, glossy, dark green, retained 2 years. Upright, sturdy, well-branched shrub. Grows to a typical height of 5 ft. in 10 yrs. Plant is hardy to -15°F (-26°C). Hybridized by Korn. |

Lepidote Rhododendron: 'Molly Fordham' Flower white inside with brilliant greenish-yellow spots; outside white with slight streaking, saucer-shaped, 1⅜" across. Held in flat trusses of 7 flowers. Blooms early midseason. Leaves elliptic, flat, broadly acute apex, cuneate to rounded base, ¾" to 1" long, semi-glossy, moderate olive green. Upright, broad plant habit. Typical height: 4 ft. in 10 yrs. Plant is hardy to -20°F (-29°C). Hybridized by Mezitt. |

Evergreen Azalea: 'Elsie Lee' Flower semi-double, light reddish purple, widely funnel-shaped, 2¼" - 2½" across. Inflorescence 2 to 3 flowered. Blooms late midseason. Leaves broadly elliptic, acute apex, rounded base, 1½" long, glossy, moderate yellow-green, held for 2 years. Mature leaves yellowish-brown. Upright, broad habit. Grows to about 3 ft. in 10 years. Cold hardy to -15°F (-26°C). Hybridized by Shammarello. |

Deciduous Azalea: R. vaseyi Flower pale to deep pink, occasionally white, green throat with reddish-orange spotting. Inflorescence 5-8 flowered. Blooms early midseason. Leaves elliptic, tapering at each end, up to 5" long, margins often undulate, deciduous. Upright, spreading plant habit. Typical height: 4 ft. in 10 yrs. Cold hardy to -15°F (-26°C). Native species found growing wild in North Carolina. |
